Over 300 Minnesota health care workers, including members of the Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians, have signed an open letter of support to the health care workers and first responders who care for victims of gun violence, while also calling for action.
From the letter:
“We recognize the heartbreaking work you do.
We see your dedication and compassion.
We support you as you tirelessly support others.
We acknowledge the emotional toll it takes on you to care for those who have experienced such severe harm.
We know that any time you are called upon to do this work is another time too many.
We stand with you to end gun violence, the leading cause of death in children ages 1–17 in this nation.
We demand better for our children, neighbors, and community.
We grieve with you.
We pray with you.
We thank you.”
