The MAFP Board of Directors is an elected group of members (along with executive staff) who govern the Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP). We are a member-led, member-run organization, working to promote family medicine and support Minnesota family physicians. See who’s serving on our current board of directors.

Positions open annually:

  • Student Director (1 opening)

Contact us to express your interest, learn more and/or connect with current MAFP leaders.

Term: One year (July 1 – June 30)

Expectations:

  • Actively participate in meetings of the Board of Directors (two hours, online or in person, every other month) as a voting member.
  • Actively participate in meetings of the Academic Affairs Committee (online) as an ex-officio member.
  • Represent the MAFP as an official voting delegate at the annual AAFP FUTURE Conference held in late July in Kansas City, MO (registration and travel expenses covered by the MAFP).

Resident Director: Must be an MAFP resident member enrolled in a Minnesota family medicine residency on July 1.

The MAFP Leadership Development Committee presents a slate of candidates for the Board of Directors to the membership for voting in advance of the Annual Meeting (typically held in April).

Family Medicine Interest Groups (FMIGs) encourage students to cultivate their interest in and promote the value of family medicine through community service, mentorship, professional development, and leadership.
